La Paloma Families For Children is a network of safe and loving, family style homes for needy children. La Paloma is  located in Col. Vicente Guererro, Baja California, Mexico, and is a division of IDT Baja, a Mexico branch of International Disciple Training
 
Directors Steve & Johanne Manzano have been working with IDT since February 1994. They have 16 children between the ages of eight and twenty seven and four grandchildren. Eleven of their children live at home as well as one permanently placed La Paloma child, Veronica. Steve and Johanne receive temporarily placed and special concern children and though always large, their family size fluctuates regularly. They oversee the Las Manzanitas Home - a home for teenaged girls - which is on their property. Steve teaches math and science, is the Dean of IDT Academy, and pastors a small church in the nearby community Lomas de San Ramon. Johanne is a very busy mom, teaches 5th/6th grade in IDT Academy, ministers in the community, and is a board member of Comfort Israel. Visit our IDT family profiles...
