Our IDT Family
A discipleship ministry serving the Kingdom of God

Our IDT family is made up of families, large and small, as well as individuals from different countries, backgrounds, denominations and personalities. We are a very diverse and interesting mix, an excellent example of how all who believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ are part of the family of God no matter who they are or where they come from.


Steve & Juana Burns
Steve & Juana Burns

Steve has been serving with IDT since 1991 and Juana since 1993, Steve and Juana founded La Paloma Children's home in 2002. They have six children: Marissa, Mayra, Elijah, Raegan, Steven, and Zeke. Their areas of ministry include: Steve and Juana serve at Calvary Chaple Guerrero, and Steve is also a construction supervisor. Juana teaches a woman's bible study in La Choerra, and is the receptionist at the IDT base, and BuildBaja.

Kevin Cross
Kevin Cross

Kevin has been serving with IDT since July 2006. After two and a half years of serving in Mexico in various evangelistic capacities and as Mission Base Director, he has begun a street evangelism and home bible study ministry in Wichita, Kansas under the authority of IDT.

Erma Fennel
Erma Fennel

Erma joined IDT in 2006 and has served in Mexico since 1988. Erma's ministry provides help to widows, the poor and disabled, is involved with 2 rehabs, house builds for the poor, a church in San Telmo Lomitas and ministers to women and children in Zapata.

Ben is involved in the BuildBaja construction ministry.

Hannah Koppers
Hannah Koppers

Hannah has been serving in Mexico since September 2005. She spent two years as staff at La Paloma Children's home and recently stepped away to start a Bible School for Mexican pastors and American missionaries.

Steve & Johanne Manzano
Steve & Johanne Manzano

Steve and Johanne have been working with IDT since February 1994. They are the directors of La Paloma Children's home. Steve and Johanne have 16 children of their own eleven of which live at home, and four grandchildren. Steve and Johanne receive temporarily placed and special concern children and though always large, their family size fluctuates regularly. Steve teaches math and science, is the Dean of IDT Academy, and pastors a small church in the nearby community Lomas de San Ramon. Johanne is a very busy mom, teaches 6th grade at IDT Academy, ministers in the community, and is a board member of Comfort Israel.

Danielle Pearson
Danielle Pearson

Danielle has been here since March of 2007. She works with the Community of Zarahembla, where the IDT Baja base is located. She is the (self-appointed) Community Development Coordinator for Zarahembla, which includes: ESL classes for children and adults, language exchange, summer sports camps, organizing community events, etc. She loves the language and the people and has really enjoyed her time in Baja.

Kim Rodriguez
Kim Rodriguez

Kim and her son Jacob have been in Mexico since August 2002. Along with home schooling her son, Kim's ministries involve preaching the gospel at house dedications outreaches, local churches, conferences and retreats, Encouraging and supporting Pastors and other Christians, Helping with special events, Retreats, IDT Pastors' breakfasts, Organizing Missionary trips to Loreto and Translating for individuals at DIF and other governmental agencies, church services, events and activities.

Stan & Marilyn Schulz
Stan & Marilyn Schulz

Stan and Marilyn have been working with IDT since June 2004. They have two children and one foster son, Ramon. Their ministries include Administration and Campo Ministry.

Greg & Alyson Schulz
Greg & Alyson Schulz

Greg and Alyson met in Mexico, and married in August 2005. Their ministries include Comfort Israel: Project Outfield, Challah bread cover ministry, director's assistant (Alyson). Greg is the assistant director for the Summer of Service program.

Bill & Peggy Sopher
Bill & Peggy Sopher

Bill and Peggy have been working with IDT since December 1997. They have six children and one Mexican foster. Bill is the IDT Director of financial affairs and legal consultant. Peggy teaches at IDT Academy and is involved in prayer ministry.

Ruth-Ann Waterhouse
Ruth-Ann Waterhouse

Ruth-Ann has been serving in Mexico since 1990. First,at Casa Hogar Bienvenidos Orphanage for 13 years in positions from cook to co-director. After leaving Casa Hogar in 2005, she joined IDT and began La Huerta Guarderia(the Orchard Daycare Center). La Huerta Guarderia is a Christ-centered daycare service to the children of fieldworker families in the Triqui community just north of the IDT base. As a divorced, single mom herself, she understands many of the needs of the families here. “With the Lord God as our guide, we are serving the most-needy families and beginning to see changed lives.”

Karen Wind
Karen Wind

Karen Wind has been serving with IDT since October of 2004 when she followed God's call from Alberta, Canada and headed south. She serves as a mom to kids who need one under La Paloma Families for Children, as well as a worship leader and as a helper in anything else that needs doing. Right now under Karen's care are Gumaro, age 9, and Alejandro, age 4.

Steve & Kathy Yoshimi
Steve & Kathy Yoshimi

Steve Yoshimi has been serving with IDT Baja since 1996. Kathy joined IDT in the fall of 1999, met Steve, and they were married a year later. Steve and Kathy now serve as the senior pastors for Living Waters Fellowship, IDT Baja, which is the missionary fellowship. They also oversee outreaches, Spanish Bible studies and Summer of Service. Steve is an IDT board member, and Kathy is the director of womens ministries, as well as serving as a board member for Comfort Israel. They have three daughters and five grandchildren.
