During one of our tours to Israel in 2005, our tour guide and close personal friend, Eli Rockowitz invited us to attend his son Joav’s baseball game after dinner one night. We were very touched to realize that these two teams, in downtown Jerusalem (Kraft Field) were so ill-equipped that both teams were sharing one very small equipment bag. The players had few baseballs, antiquated bats, no uniforms and several children were sharing gloves. Through prayer, our pastor began to realize that Comfort Israel could be of assistance to the many youth in Israel who wish to play baseball, but could not because of a lack of equipment. Since then, meetings have been held with Mrs. Ellie Render, the head of the Jerusalem Youth League and Mr. Haim Katz, the National Director of Youth Baseball for Israel. Comfort Israel is currently in the process of discovering ways to ship to Israel more youth baseball equipment that currently exists in the entire nation. All of this equipment will be given to the leagues of Israel freely in the name of Jesus Christ.

If you or anyone you know has contacts with shipping agents, your assistance of networking us together with them will be greatly appreciated. It is our sincere desire that the youth of Israel will have an opportunity through the use of this equipment to realize a “normal” life while living in the midst of uncertainty and war.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated!
*SPECIAL NOTE* You may be asking, “why not purchase this gear in Israel?” The answer to this question is that baseball is a relatively new sport to Israel and at the time of this writing (July 2007) there are no supplies to be purchased within the Holy Land.
